The Plaza Hotel is synonymous with New York luxury. This Beaux-Arts landmark overlooking Central Park has been a symbol of elegance since 1907, hosting everyone from royalty to Hollywood stars.
You can't beat the location—Fifth Avenue and Central Park South. Central Park is across the street, Fifth Avenue shopping is steps away, and you're within walking distance of major attractions. It's the heart of Manhattan.
My room overlooked Central Park, offering views of the tree canopy and city skyline. The décor blends classic elegance with modern updates—crystal chandeliers, marble bathrooms, and contemporary technology. The Plaza has been meticulously restored, preserving its historic character while adding modern comforts.
Taking afternoon tea at The Palm Court is a Plaza tradition. The stunning stained-glass ceiling, live harp music, and impeccable service create a quintessentially elegant experience. The tea sandwiches, scones, and pastries were delicious.
The hotel houses several dining options, including The Rose Club and The Champagne Bar. I enjoyed dinner at The Rose Club—the modern American cuisine was excellent, and the Art Deco setting was gorgeous.
The Guerlain Spa offers luxurious treatments in a serene setting. I indulged in a massage that melted away the stress of city exploration.
Service was professional and attentive without being stuffy. The Plaza strikes a nice balance between formal elegance and approachability. Staff were knowledgeable about the hotel's history and happy to share stories.
The Plaza is expensive (rooms start around $800), but you're paying for history, location, and the prestige of staying at one of the world's most famous hotels. For a special New York experience, it's hard to beat.
